Salvador Vazquez began to learn how to play the traditional Jalisco mariachi harp in 1998.  His teacher was William Faulkner who is a traditional Jalisco harpist from the Monterey Bay area and who has been playing the Jalisco harp since 1981. Salvador studied the Southern Jalisco style of harp where you can play as a soloist or in an ensemble (Mariachi). In 2002 he started performing as a solo harpist and began to play at Casa Lupe Mexican Restaurant in Mountain View where he still plays every Friday night. Salvador has performed for schools, festivals, hospitals, senior care and rehab facilities, and private recitals and also teaches the Jalisco harp.
